It is one of the few terms in the region that throughout the 20th century has not undergone any kind of aggregation from other municipalities.<\/p>\n<p>It is located in the north-west of the region, to the east of the Aig\u00fcestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici National Park, of which it is one of the entrances. An important part of this park is within the municipal area of \u200b\u200bEspot, especially one of its most emblematic places: the Encantats and the Estany de Sant Maurici.<\/p>\n<p>Medieval bridge<br \/>\n It is part of the Vall d&#8217;\u00c0neu, but the town is located in the valley of the Riu Escrita, a subsidiary of the Vall d&#8217;\u00c0neu in its southern sector. The altitude of the mountains that delimit the valley, as well as its climatic characteristics, have allowed the establishment of a ski resort in the valley, Super Espot, which has made the valley and Espot itself one of the most touristic places in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The town of Espot has, although close to each other, three distinct nuclei: the old town, known as the Obago, the eastern area, where the current Town House and the parish church of Santa Llogaia, the Casa del Parc and the Casa de Col\u00f2nies d&#8217;Espot and the recently built Solau, further north.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the town of Espot, the municipality has another town, Esta\u00eds, the ski resort, with two small population centers, Super Espot and Berrader, remains of the town of Llort, around the Castell de Llort, remains of the church of Santa Maria d&#8217;Espot, the hermitage of Sant Maurici, the chapel of Sant Jaume, the tower of La Torrassa, the hydroelectric power plant of Espot and numerous bordes, apart from the surroundings of Esta\u00eds, which are discussed in the article dedicated to this town. <a href=\"http:\/\/parcsnaturals.gencat.cat\/ca\/aiguestortes\">Aig\u00fcestortes National Park and Lake Sant Maurici.<\/a> <\/div>\n<p><a href=\"rates\"><iframe class=\"video\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5KsxWY_xju8?autoplay=1&amp;controls=0&amp;mute=1&amp;si=xrmUiIWGZuMjpxCx\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"rates\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.campingriugelat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/slider1-movil.jpg\" alt=\"Camping Riu Gelat | Camping Spot\" width=\"100%\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-100 hidden-lg hidden-md hidden-sm\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.campingriugelat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/slider1-movil.jpg 849w, https:\/\/www.campingriugelat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/slider1-movil-177x300.jpg 177w, https:\/\/www.campingriugelat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/slider1-movil-768x1303.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.campingriugelat.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/slider1-movil-604x1024.jpg 604w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 849px) 100vw, 849px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Camping Spot | Camping Riu Gelat | Espot is a town and municipality in the region of Pallars Sobir\u00e0.
